Consultancy Approach and Background
Brian Mead utilises a practical approach to implementing management systems, and is conscious of the need to avoid incurring any over burdensome bureaucracy, more especially where smaller businesses are concerned.
Following many years of applying internal quality improvement principles within a large corporate environment, including an early notable achievement in attaining ISO 9001 within a global operations centre, Brian is now successfully putting these years of experience to practical use in helping smaller and medium sized organisations to gain the best possible benefits from using ISO 9001, and firmly believes that when applied effectively and tailored to an organisation’s own business and customer needs it will provide an ideal basis for continuous business improvement.
Brian also applies the same basic principles to implementing both the environmental standard ISO 14001, and the very new business continuity management standard BS 25999, as these can so readily integrate with ISO 9001.
Brian's Approach...
To always aim to ensure that whatever work is carried out does in fact have some tangible business benefit.
To avoid over complicating quality related issues or problems. Much of it is generally common sense.
Using a relatively minimalist approach to implementing ISO 9001:2000, and firmly believing that it should only be there to assist the business, not overburden it.
To encourage client organisations to carry out as much of the preparation work as possible in order to encourage ownership.
Believes it can be beneficial in some cases to combine some of the concepts or aims of both ISO 9001 and the Excellence Model, as their objectives are very similar.
Is always happy to continue to help an organisation with any further ad-hoc queries or concerns that they may have, without any further commitment - in other words, after sales service.
and lastly..
Brian has an open and honest approach, but you can hopefully make that judgement yourself.
If you want to just ask a question or two, or wish to discuss further how either ISO 9001 or The Excellence Model can help improve your business, then do call or email.
