ISO 45001 replacing OHSAS 18001

ISO 45001:2018 is now superseding OHSAS 18001 with a 3 year transition period until 2021, after which all exisiting OHSAS 18001 certifications will lapse. ISO 45001 is now based on the Annex SL common framework standard along with other management systems (e.g. ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015) and is therefore expected to be fully integrated with those systems as well as within the operation of the business or organisation. The new Standard mandates greater management involvement as well as the risk based approach now common across ISO 9001 etc. Brian Mead, Business Improvement Services will be helping its existing clients to transition as simply and effectively as possible.
